About Us

Animal Protection Association dba Spay Memphis is a nonprofit clinic offering high-quality, affordable spay and neuter services to the public. We have operated since 2005 and performed over 60,000 spay and neuter surgeries!

Mission

To prevent pet overpopulation through high-quality, affordable spay and neuter surgeries

Vision

Memphis will be the leader in animal welfare and the ideal pet-friendly community where euthanasia is not necessary because there is a loving and responsible home for every pet.

Impact

Since 2005, Spay Memphis has helped more than 82,000 animals receive affordable spay and neuter surgery, which has reduced the number of puppies and kittens born in the Mid-South by the millions!

In 2022 alone, Spay Memphis was able to spay/neuter 7,803 pets!

2023 Spay/Neuter Statistics
Dogs - 1,990
Domestic Cats - 2,152
Feral Cats - 1,341
Total - 5,483

One of our main goals is to remove the financial burden of spay/neuter so that all pet owners can make the decision to have their pet fixed.  We work tirelessly to secure individual donor and grant funding to help clients who need additional financial assistance beyond our already discounted prices. (Click here to learn more about our discounted surgery/grant opportunities.)

We are grateful to our dedicated Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, grant partners, community and rescue partners, and donors. Spay Memphis is a 100% donor and program fee funded (co-payments for surgery from pet owners) organization. If you love animals, there is a way for you to help. Contact us if you would like more information on how you can make a difference.
